This Data Safety and Deletion Policy explains how we collect, protect, retain, and delete user data on the GMB Mobile App, in line with Google Play requirements, the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data protection guidelines.

Data We Collect

The following categories of personal data may be collected and processed when you use GMB Mobile: *Personal Identification Information (name, phone number, email, BVN, account details). *Financial and Transaction Data (fund transfers, bill payments, airtime purchases). *Device and Technical Data (device model, IP address, operating system). *Location, Camera, Storage, and Contacts data — for verification and transaction purposes.

Purpose of Data Collection

We collect and process your data solely to: *Provide mobile banking and related financial services. *Authenticate and verify your identity. *Prevent fraud and ensure system security. *Comply with CBN and NDIC regulations. *Improve service experience and app functionality.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as it is necessary to: *Maintain your active account; *Fulfill the purposes for which it was collected; *Comply with legal and regulatory obligations; *Resolve disputes and enforce agreements. When your account is closed or becomes inactive for a specified period, your data will be securely archived or deleted according to regulatory timelines set by the CBN and NDIC.

Data Deletion and User Control

You have full rights to request the deletion of your personal data. You may do this by contacting us through support@gmbmfbank.com. With the subject line “Data Deletion Request – GMB Mobile.” Upon receiving your request: *We will verify your identity to prevent unauthorized deletion. *Eligible data (that is not required by law or regulation to be retained) will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. *Data that must be retained for legal, regulatory, or fraud-prevention purposes will be securely stored and isolated until retention obligations expire.

Account Deletion Procedure

If you wish to delete your GMB Mobile account: *Log into the app and contact support via the “Help” or “Contact Us” section. *Alternatively, send a written request to support@gmbmfbank.com

Third-Party Data Handling

If data is shared with trusted third-party service providers (e.g., payment processors, telecom providers), such partners are bound by strict confidentiality and data protection agreements consistent with CBN and NDPA standards.
